About me
My interest in therapy was born from my own personal experiences of trauma, after leaving an abusive relationship in my late 20s , i began to question what was wrong with me? Maybe if i just tried a little harder someone would love me?
It wasnt until i sought personal therapy that i began to see how i had been seeking validation in all the wrong places and how some of the beliefs passed down to me by those closest to me were shaping how i looked at the world, its here i began to understand that challenging some of these beliefs and starting to love myself regardless of my flaws was the solution. My own experience of personal therapy modelled much of what i now bring to my clients today.
Having someone to listen, understand and nurture you while you begin to find your path in life is one of the best gifts i have ever been bestowed and it is this gentle, curious, compassion i now offer to my clients. Therapy helped me to learn to pay attention to my thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It helped me to analyse why i was making these decisions and that in turn helped me to make better and more conscious choices over my life.
I believe this compassion, awareness and observation means i am now in a postion to help others learn to do the same , in the hope this will enable them to live a more authentic life.
